Manchester United reportedly does not intend to sue Cristiano Ronaldo following his contentious interview with Piers Morgan.
The 37-year-old spent a lot of time speaking with Morgan on TalkTV and criticized a number of aspects of the Red Devils, saying that they have not made much progress since he left for Real Madrid in 2009.
Over the summer, Ronaldo is said to have told Man United that he wanted to leave, but the striker later told Morgan that unidentified club employees “betrayed” him and tried to force him out.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also criticized Erik ten Hagand and expressed his disdain for his coach, who has frequently benched him this season.
Ronaldo is widely believed to have played his final Manchester United game following the explosive interview, and a January departure could occur if serious interest in his services materializes.
The Red Devils are reportedly considering how to terminate Ronaldo’s contract, which is expected to run until the summer, in the event that it is discovered that he has violated his terms.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils are eager to settle the dispute before that point, and the striker has also been threatened with legal action if Man United can demonstrate that his remarks resulted in significant financial harm to the team.
The article claims that Ronaldo has been informed by Man United that although they would prefer not to sue him, they may still sue him if he challenges the termination of his contract.
Ronaldo’s agreement with Man Joined is apparently up for an end because of unfortunate wrongdoing, and the Red Fallen angels are expected to give Portugal worldwide fourteen days’ notification prior to doing as such.
Man United is said to be eager to complete the process before their December 21 EFL Cup match against Burnley. Ronaldo is currently abroad representing Portugal at the 2022 World Cup.
Portugal’s World Cup campaign will begin on November 24 against Ghana in Group H, where they will also play Uruguay and South Korea. On Monday, Ronaldo showed up at a press conference in a surprising way.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus player used the opportunity to defend his interview with Morgan and to describe himself as “iron-clad” and “bulletproof.”
“My timing is always the best in my life. From your perspective, it is simple to examine how we can select timings. You write lies and truths at different times. I am not required to consider what other people think. Ronaldo told reporters, “I speak when I want to.”
“The players have known me for a very long time and are aware of my personality. The group is ambitious, hungry, and focused. Therefore, I am confident that the interview will not disrupt the changing room’s concentration.
“If you don’t talk about me, you can help. I have no weaknesses or weaknesses at all. I would be upset if you asked other players about Cristiano Ronaldo. I would appreciate it if you would inquire about the World Cup and the team.”
Ronaldo returned to action in time to face Ghana on Thursday, but he only scored three goals and provided two assists in 16 games this season for Man United, giving him very little to work with heading into the World Cup.
Chelsea and Sporting Lisbon are thought to be Ronaldo’s two most likely destinations if he leaves Man United during the winter; however, the Blues are said to have changed their minds about signing him.
