See Ron Rivera's emotional moment after Commanders' huge win: 'My mother would have been proud'

It was a win that meant more to Ron Rivera than a victory.

The Washington Commanders head coach lost his mother on Oct. 31, and on Monday, his team got its first victory since then, a 31-21 victory over the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles.

And Rivera was emotional addressing the team in the locker room — he could barely get the words out to the players, who encouraged him as he teared up.

But he said it: “My mother would have been proud.”

He walked away, and receiver Terry McLaurin took over to talk about how much it meant to Rivera and everyone in the room. An incredible moment:

This moment of Ron Rivera thinking of his late mother is powerful. His leadership to this franchise is exceptional.

And when we’re talking about most indispensable players, Terry McLaurin needs to be on the list. Elite player and human.
