AC Milan willing to sign Real Madrid ace permanently in €22 million deal

According to MARCA, Serie A giants AC Milan are willing to turn Real Madrid ace Brahim Diaz’s loan stay into a permanent one by paying the €22 million fee included in the agreement between the two clubs.

Diaz is currently on loan at Milan for a third season in a row. Having spent the 2020/21 campaign at San Siro, the attacking midfielder returned to Lombardy last year on a two-year temporary deal.

Since then, Diaz has shone brightly for Stefano Pioli’s side. He helped the Rossoneri win the Serie A title last season and has been in good form in the current campaign as well, scoring four goals and registering an assist in 13 Serie A matches.

Impressed by the 23-year-old’s contributions, Milan are ready to make his stay permanent by paying the €22 million fee stipulated in the loan agreement.

This development comes despite recent reports suggesting that Real Madrid want to keep Diaz at the club after the ongoing season.

MARCA also suggests that even though Milan are planning to sign the Spaniard permanently, Los Blancos still hope to keep him at the Bernabeu, where he would earn around €5 million in salary. If he is retained at the club, it would be as part of the first-team plans and not to use him in any other operations.

Diaz, for his part, is yet to decide on his future. While he continues to dream of succeeding in Madrid, he has found an ideal setting in Milan where he is a regular and enjoys the faith of the manager.

With the 23-year-old still having two years on his Real Madrid contract, he will take stock of the situation at the end of the season and see how things pan out at the Bernabeu with regard to player exits which might open up a spot for him.
