Elif Elmas’ cross was expertly headed into the goal by Victor Osimhen after 15 minutes to give the league leaders the lead. Piotr Zielinski doubled the lead in the 31st minute with a shot from the edge of the box after being set up by Hirving Lozano. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa freed Elmas in the 58th minute to score the third goal as the home team continued to apply pressure in the second half.

When Ilija Nestorovski received the ball from Isaac Success and shot it into the goal with 11 minutes remaining, Udinese cut the deficit in half. Three minutes later, Lazar Samardzic scored again to restore parity, and Luciano Spalletti of Napoli cut a frustrated figure as his team hung on to win the game.

With 41 points, Napoli leads the standings by 11 points above Lazio, who will play Juventus on Sunday before the World Cup break. In eighth position is Udinese.

The Italian professional football team Napoli, more commonly known as Napoli (pronounced [napoli]), is based in Naples, Campania (Napoli in Italian, Napule in Neapolitan), and competes in Serie A, the top division of Italian football. Six Coppa Italia championships, two Supercoppa Italiana crowns, two Serie A championships, and one UEFA Cup have all been won by Napoli.

The success of Napoli in the Italian football league since the formation of a single Serie A since that season

After U.S. Internazionale Napoli and Naples Foot-Ball Club merged, Associazione Calcio Napoli was created in 1926. With their first significant trophy coming in the 1962 Coppa Italia, Napoli had relatively little success in its early years.

Then, after the club signed Diego Maradona in 1984, Napoli saw greater success in the late 1970s (winning their second Coppa Italia in 1976), and particularly in the 1980s. Naples retired Maradona’s number 10 shirt after he helped the team win multiple championships during his tenure there. Napoli won their two league championships during this time, in 1987 and 1990, along with the 1987 Coppa Italia, 1990 Supercoppa Italiana, and 1989 UEFA Cup, which served as their lone European triumph.
