France are one of the front runners to take home the FIFA World Cup in Qatar this year, defending their title from the 2018 edition.
However, Didier Deschamps’ side look less dangerous on paper this time around because of a particularly weak setup in midfield, especially given that Paul Poga and N’Golo Kante are unavailable.
Given his resource constraints in the middle of the park, the manager has chosen some surprising candidates for the upcoming event, some of whose selection has come as a big surprise. One such candidate is Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga.
Earlier today, the Frenchman sent an important message to Deschamps, as relayed via Telefoot, reassuring both parties of his complete commitment to the cause.
“Hello coach, this is Eduardo. I would like to thank you for choosing me. I hope to restore that confidence to you during the World Cup.”
While Camavinga’s season at the club level has been far from convincing this season, there is no denying the youngster’s talent. He has been called the next big midfielder in French football for a long time now, and continues to display his quality in flashes during his minutes on the field.
The festival of football in Qatar will be the biggest tournament of the youngster’s life and also one of the biggest chances to prove his worth. If he can bring his A game, there is no stopping Camavinga from becoming a regular in the National Team setup.
